Sarah Perlis holds a deep love and reverence for the natural world, and feels a responsibility to tread as lightly as possible on the earth. Read about the steps we take to ensure each piece of jewelry is made from responsibly-sourced materials, and to ensure our carbon footprint is as small as possible.

Our Materials

Gold

Sarah primarily uses recycled high-karat gold. All scraps are refined and used in future projects.

Diamonds

All diamonds are Kimberly Certified to be conflict-free and ethically-mined.

Precious & Semi-Precious Stones

Natural stones, never heat treated.

Packaging

Announcing our newly designed eco-friendly packaging! Our jewelry boxes are made from FSC certified cardboard and use water-based adhesives. Our shipping boxes use FSC certified carboard, water-based adhesives, and are wrapped in washi tape made from rice paper and colored with non-toxic inks. Our crinkle packing material is made from 100% recycled paper, dyed with water-based inks. Our ribbons are botanically-dyed, and made from 100% pure silk. Print materials are printed on cardstock made from recycled cotton t-shirts.

Shipping Carbon Offset

Sarah Perlis is committed to reducing our carbon footprint. This year, we have teamed up with Helia Native Nursery to fully offset our shipping carbon footprint by planting trees. Read about Helia’s Carbon Offset Initiative here.
